Florida Trip – February, 2020

Part 2 – Florida Fellowship Meeting, Antioch Church, Vero Beach, Florida

Friday, 02-21-2020: The Florida Fellowship meeting was hosted by Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in Vero Beach, Florida, Eld. Chris Taylor – pastor. (A church meeting is similar to a revival: Visiting preachers come in from many areas to preach. The host church serves meals in their dining room.)

The morning session started the meeting with a message from Eld. Ronald Lawrence (Nashville, TN) from 2 Samuel 22:1 on “Lord, Our Deliverer”

Bro. Ronald is a dear friend, and a VERY able and gifted minister. We always enjoy being with Bro. Ronald and his precious family.

Eld. Lonnie Mozingo, Jr. (Natchez, MS) followed with preaching from Zechariah 13:7 on “Shepherd smited, sheep scattered”.

Bro. Lonnie was our pastor for many years, and continues to serve God’s people with his excellent gift at his home church in Natchez, MS, and at meetings like this.

A fine lunch was served by the dear members of Antioch Church in their dining hall. Afternoon services started with a message by Eld. Jonathan Cook (Mt. Airy, MD) from John 5:25 on “Voice of the Lord”.

Bro. Jonathan is a precious Brother with a great gift to preach. He has a great zeal to serve God’s People.

The second afternoon message was from Eld. Mike Ivey (Frisco, Texas) who preached from Matthew 3:13 on “Baptism”.

Bro. Mike has served God’s people for many years, we’ve always enjoyed his preaching.

After supper at the church, the evening services began with preaching by Eld. Thomas Bond (Headland, Alabama) from John 14 on the “Bridegroom”.

It was so good to see Bro. Thomas and Sis. Elaine again, after so many years. They are a precious couple in the Lord

Eld. Chris Folsom (Brunswick, GA) delivered a message from John 5:24 on “God’s Love before our Belief”.

This was the first time we’ve heard Bro. Chris preach, and we really enjoyed his message.

Friday evening’s services were concluded with preaching by Eld. Joe Nettles from Romans 11 on “Godly Jealousy”.

Bro. Joe is a gifted minister, we enjoy the fellowship we have with him and his precious wife Laura

Saturday, 02-22-2020: Saturday morning’s services started with a message from Eld. Buddy Abernathy (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) from 1 Corth. 15 on “The Gospel”.

Bro. Buddy has a great gift, it was nice to hear him preach again.

Eld. Lonnie Mozingo, Jr. preached from 2 Corth 1:8 on “Trust in God”. Bro. Lonnie was really blessed to deliver this important message.

Eld. Ronald Lawrence wonderfully preached from 1 Peter 5:6 on “Humility”. His message was WELL received…

After lunch, the meeting ended with preaching from a father and his son!

Bro. McNeil Honea (age 16) brought a very good message from 1 John 2:1 on “Little Children”.

It is so precious to see young men being called to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Eld. Neil Honea, McNeil’s dad, closed the meeting with a message from Psalm 77 on the “Providence of God”.

It was a great blessing to meet this wonderful family who have TWO members preaching!

As I write this posting, I reflect on what a great blessing it was for Sandra and I to be a part of this wonderful meeting. God so blessed the preaching and the loving fellowship of His People. I’m also impressed with the leadership of Antioch’s pastor, Eld. Chris Taylor. Antioch members did a marvelous job in supporting the logistics of the meeting, and they are to be commended.

We will ALWAYS be grateful…
