Tuesday Night Bible Study, June 02, 2020

Hi. On Tuesday night, 06-02-2020, I attended the Tuesday night bible study held at Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church. It is moderated by the church’s pastor, Eld. Randall Cagle.

Bro Randall is doing a detailed and extensive study on the TULIP doctrine:

T = Total Depravity of Man

U = Unconditional Election

L = Limited Atonement

I = Irresistible Grace

P – Preservation of the Saints

During the study, we looked at John 5, which describes Jesus healing the man near the pool. John describes the scene at the pool where a man, crippled from birth, would lay in his bed near the pool, waiting for the angel to “trouble” the waters. Whoever could enter into the waters at that time would be healed from their malady. However, the man had no one to lower him into the pool.

Jesus came by, asking the man why he lay there in his bed, and the man told him his situation. Jesus answered by saying: “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”

The man was immediately made whole, and took up his bed and walked.

What struck me about this was, the man was waiting for some man/person to help him be healed. But, when Jesus arrived – he healed the man by simply speaking.

So, when we need physical or spiritual “healing”, we need not turn to man, but to Jesus. I find this powerful and comforting!!

On the way home, I passed by this scene, showing the beauty of God’s Creation in the First Heaven.

God Bless!!!

  1. Hi Ken, I have been wondering where you have been. Sorry for the pain you must be experiencing , but glad you have had your heel repaired. And I’m sure it has been hard to not be able to walk. The inactivity for Nan and me has not been easy. I feel like I have lost a lot of muscle and strength all over. I have never been good about exercising alone. Hopefully, we will all be back soon. Take care and let me know if you need anything. Doug

  2. Hi Ken, thanks for passing on the Tulip principle. Very interesting & on target. So sorry about your injury but glad you are being sensible and having it properly taken care of. You’re strong and I have no doubt you’ll meet or exceed your recovery schedule.
    God bless you!

    1. Hi Bro. Jerry. Thank you for your kind reply. The injury has been developing over a long period of time, and it will require a long (for me) period of inactivity and therapy to return. I trust the Lord has not placed this burden on me to walk and declare the glory of His Creation and not provide a means to do so. I pray for you and Kathy’s health to be improved by God’s healing Grace.
