Church Meeting – Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church (07-31/08-01-2020)

Friday, 07-31-2020: We drove from our home (Cumming, GA) to the Macon, GA area to attend a church meeting at Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church. We’ve visited Cool Springs Church several times in the past, and are very close to their pastor Eld. Philip Conley and his beautiful family (they’re “family” to us!). It is a great place to worship and fellowship.

Since we were spending the night to also attend Saturday services, we got a room at the Residence Inn in Macon, where we’ve stayed at least once before. After check-in and resting some, we drove the 35 miles east to the Danville, GA area and out into the country to the church building location.

A wonderful fellowship supper was served by the church in their very nice lunchroom. After supper, the evening services began. Following the song service, preaching was offered by the visiting ministers – Eld. Jeb Owen (pastor of Stratton Primitive Baptist Church in Stratton, Texas), and Eld. James Conley (pastor of Union Primitive Baptist Church in Ruth, Mississippi).

Bro. Jeb preached from 1 Peter 1 on “Believing in God and Jesus on Faith”.

Bro Jeb is an able preacher, and we’ve been blessed to hear him in past meetings in Mississippi.

Bro. James spoke from Psalm 65 on “God Chose us in Christ”.

This is the first time we’ve heard Bro. James preach, and we look forward to many more opportunities!

Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020: Morning services were opened by a song service, and followed with preaching by Bro. James from Isaiah 46 on “The Great I AM”. Fellowship lunch followed morning services.

Left-to-Right: Elders James Conley, Jeb Owen, and Philip Conley

We had a special treat in seeing Bro. John Mark Quarles, from Jackson, Mississippi. Bro. John Mark is the son of Eld. Mark and Sis. Emily Quarles, a family that we are also very close to. Bro. Mark is pastor of Providence Primitive Baptist Church in Stringer, Mississippi.

So precious to be with our dear “Church Grandson”

After the fellowship luncheon, we departed northward towards home. Our time with the Conleys, Bro. John Mark, the wonderful fellowship and preaching by Bro. Jeb and Bro. James, all made us realize how greatly blessed we are…
