Hi! Hope this finds you and your family doing well, and enjoying the peaceful and comforting grace of our Lord.
On Friday evening, and Saturday 03-11/12-2022, Ideal Primitive Baptist Church – Elder Hugh Sanders Pastor, hosted its annual Spring Fellowship meeting.
Elder Josh Coker was the invited minister.

Each service was preceded by a song service, led by song leaders, and sung by the congregation “a Capella” (without musical instruments).

Eld. Josh Coker preached from Matthew 3 on “The Importance of Preaching”.

Saturday Morning, 03-12-2022

Following the song service, Eld. Josh Coker preached from 1 Corinthians 10:1-12 on “Avoid Idleness, live a Purposeful Life in the Lord”
From this message:
– Israel wandered in the wilderness with no purpose
– Avoid a life consumed in vanity and hopelessness
– Abound in the Work of the Lord!
References included:
– Numbers 13 and 14
– Psalm 78:33
– Ezekiel 16:49
– 1 Corinthians 15:58
Personal Note: This was a VERY inspiring message to me. I’ll explain in a future posting.

Following morning services, a fellowship lunch was served in the dining room.
Saturday Afternoon
A Deacon ordination was held in the afternoon.
(The following offers a high-level summary description of a Deacon ordination.)
The office of Deacon in Jesus’ church was initiated in Acts 6:1:6.
Qualifications for Deacon are defined in 1 Timothy 3:8-16.
A presbytery of member and visiting Elders (ordained ministers) and Deacons was formed. Eld. Josh Coker was chosen to be the clerk (taking notes of the proceedings).
Eld. Hugh Sanders was chosen to be the moderator and give the charge (responsibilities) to the candidate – Bro. Jason Gerald.
A spokesperson for the church was asked about the candidate.
The candidate was questioned about his beliefs and understandings, and a “charge” was given regarding the duties.

It was a precious time of worship, fellowship, and ordination. Thankful for the opportunity to attend!
