Vestavia Primitive Baptist Church – 2022 New Year’s Eve Meeting

Hi! Hope this finds you and your family doing well, and enjoying the peaceful and comforting Grace of our Lord.

On Saturday evening, and Sunday morning 12-31-2022/01-01-2023, Vestavia Primitive Baptist Church – Elder Josh Coker Pastor, hosted its 2022 New Year’s Eve meeting.
Elder Lonnie Mozingo, Jr. was the invited minister.

Each service was preceded by a song service, led by song leaders, and sung by the congregation “a Capella” (without musical instruments).

Saturday Evening, 12-31-2022

Eld. Lonnie Mozingo, Jr. preached from 1 Corinthians 1:9 on “God is Faithful”.

– Only God is faithful and dependable
– God will NEVER fail us!
– We will be in heaven, not because of our works, but because of God’s Faithfulness
– We can rest in God’s Promises
– A conscience is God’s Word written in us

Following evening services, a time of fellowship was held in the dining room.

Sunday Morning, 01-01-2023

Following the song service, Eld. Lonnie Mozingo, Jr. preached from Ephesians 3:14-19 on “The Cause of Christ”

– When the Holy Spirit will dwells within us, our carnal nature will be weakened, and our Spiritual nature will be strengthened
– Be in the world, but be NOT of the world
– Do good and love others, because we love God

Following morning services, a fellowship lunch was served in the dining room.

Personal Notes:
It was truly a very blessed time for Sandra and I to attend this meeting.

Bro. Lonnie was our loving and very gifted pastor for many years when we lived in the Atlanta area. We are thankful for his gift to preach so ably, and his love for God’s people. We pray the Lord will continue to bless and provide for Bro. Lonnie and his ministry.🙏

It was also a blessing to be at Vestavia Church again, where we had a church home in the 1990s. We are thankful for the loving membership and the care they showed towards us. We are also very thankful for their precious pastor Bro. Josh and his family, and the good work he is doing there. We pray Bro. Josh and the church will be blessed of the Lord in their worship and growth of the church family, in the years to come.❤

We cannot think of a better way to end a year, and bring in a new year, than to be in such wonderful services in the Lord’s House. 🙂
